VW Bus – Wood Stove Heater

For a long time, I’ve wondered about how to heat my VW Bus. I can now consider the problem solved. Purchased a wood stove from Riley’s in Townsend, MT. Picked it up in the ‘factory’ from Riley himself. Each stove is serial numbered and hand made in MT, pure American quality.

Next stop, Butte MT. We get to work with the fabrication and retro-fitting with the help of our good friend and carpenter.

One of a kind and good times ahead.

Hot Springs Trip

Hot springs strip to an ‘undisclosed’ location on the Salmon river pretty close to the River of No Return wilderness.  First stumbled upon in 2004, used my brain to get back 6 years later and ran into a Dee Synder look-a-like at the gas station. Made this trip with a clan in the bus.  Of course the VW felt right at home and the terrain was no problem.  As usual the Waters of Enlightenment were plenty and much was learned and seen.

That tarp and rock shack is a backwoods steam room in which the water comes out damn near boiling, flowing under your ass,  then mixes with the creek.  It’s in Panther Hot Springs if you want some info on it.

VW Westfalia Road Trip, Part 1: Klaus the VW

Driving to Zion. Rogue campfire at some random Utah wash with a pallet and garbage desk we ‘found’ in Grand junction.  Ian chopped wood in the back of Klaus while I drove.  Summit County, Colorado. Etc. 3000 miles, round trip. Climbing pics tomorrow.
